So after meeting 12 suitors at our local HRS rescue I came home with Herbie, an adorable helicopter lop with a mane. Now i can’t be known as NoMane haha! Although he was neutered only about 2 weeks ago i was given the ok to bring him home and start the bonding process since these two were love at first sight.
They had a few scuffles but i left them to figure out their differences more or less on their own as long as no one was in danger of getting hurt. By day 3 they were spending most of their dates cuddling, shared food and litterboxes just fine so at that point i did their first overnight. They have done 2 overnights with me sleeping next to their pen and no fighting has occurred. Just cuddles and coexisting peacefully. Is it too soon to consider them bonded?
Also, while they both had perfect litterbox habits coming in, there appears to be a poop/pee war going on. Im just throwing the poops and dirty papertowels back into the litterboxes… but will this eventually go away? I miss how low maintenance cleaning up after Bea has normally been. She never so much as has a single poop out of the box.
Of course i cant resist showing off my cuties…
