Hello everyone,
I’ve tried to google this topic a couple of times but obviously that was unhelpful. My rabbit, 8 month old female unspayed Flemish Giant, has been acting a little strange. She never really goes to the bathroom away from her litter box but lately she likes to hop in circles around me and weave in between my feet (if i’m standing up) and poop while she hops. She will do that for as long as I will stand still and if I start to walk a away she stays very close and then continues when I’m standing still again. Today the house was really quiet so I noticed another detail which is she’s very quietly grunting while she’s circling me. I know that the pooping thing can be territorial and she isn’t fixed so that I’m sure has a part in it but I don’t understand why she is doing it and why only to me? She never nudges me or bites at my pants or anything. Just goes in circles and weaves, grunts, and poops…so much poop.
Another thing we noticed these last few months is she has become so much more affectionate. Before she would only jump up on the couch if my husband was laying down and she would only binky when he was home and in the same room as her..but now she follows us both around and is constantly approaching me for nose rubs and lays down by me which NEVER happened before. Not to mention she jumps in our bed and plops every chance we give her which was so out of the ordinary three months ago.
Also at night she gets especially spunky and itching to run around. For a while it was like pulling teeth to get her to come out of her cage and socialize but every couple days she is in rare form and wants to get moving! I don’t want to fix her because I have a feeling all of these changes are because of “puberty” and her maturing and I love it all! (except the weird pooping/grunting and the strong smelling pee!)
Any comments are welcome, I’m dying to know what you all think. I need to upload some pictures of her onto my laptop so I can show you. She’s gotta be more than 10 lbs already and beautiful. Flemish Giants are amazing.
