Hey everyone!
So I’ve been on the fence about whether or not to separate my trio based on the actions of the older female to the younger female. My older female Chester is the “Alpha” of the pack and likes to remind the younger of the two females Eva that she’s the one in charge. She does this by the occasional nip/lunge that pulls hair, along with her chasing her in and out of their cage. When I originally bonded the trio stuff like this was somewhat present but dissipated after extended periods of bonding sessions. I’m concerned because now poor Eva is skittish all the time around Chester and seems rather unhappy in her current living arrangements.
So my options are to either separate the girls and keeping the boy wit Chester and just have Eva fly solo. Or go for a fourth rabbit andtry to bond him to Eva. Me and my fiance have talked about getting a fourth rabbit which is somewhat of a nice thought. The only concern I have is the effect of a new male rabbit will have on the overall dynamic of the current three regardless of who I separate with whom and who I decide to bond him too. Plus we don’t necessarily have the income for a fourth. So i’d rather try to get the girls to be better bonded if that’s possible.
Thoughts, suggestions, and sharing of experiences is welcomed.
