Before you put any bunnies together and start the bonding process, they both have to be spayed or neutered and recuperated from their surgeries. When rabbits start reaching maturity, their hormones come into play. This can happen around 3 or 4 months of age. Rabbits who are not spayed or neutered will very likely fight, and severe injuries can occur. It is usually easier to bond a spayed female to a neutered male, although you can bond same sex rabbits, only after their surgeries. Sometimes bonding doesn’t work at all, although that is pretty rare, but be prepared to keep your rabbits separate if you can’t get them to bond. Breeds don’t matter, it is personality that matters.
Here are 2 good articles on bonding:

If you successfully bond rabbits, they can be housed together and fed together. The cage or pen would certainly have to be big enough for 2 rabbits.
