Hello, so me and my boyfriend are moving into a new apartment. It is a small but perfect for us. We have had Nibbles, our year old dwarf rabbit, for about 9 months and we love her. a lot lol. So far she has always lived in my room, having a 5ft by 5ft (rough estimate) area to herself and then coming out under my supervision for atleast 3/4 hours minimum a day. However now that we are moving it leaves an opportunity to create a new area. The only problem is that we are renting and it is a very strict no pet damage policy. She is pretty well litter trained and has only ever cause minor damage to the floor in the past. But because of how strict the lease is, she can only be let out when one of us is full-on watching her. I plan to get her an x pen of sorts to be her new habitat/home base. Something she can run in (she loves to bolt around <3) I think putting a rug under it will work well to protect the floor. But I don't think it would be a good idea for her to always stay in there, even though she will have plenty of room to roam. She is very curious and playful and loves to be near us.
I guess my questions are:
1. is a rug a good option to protect the floor? (which is also rug)
2. What is the boundary between home base and play area? If it was big enough would she need to come out? And how big would that need to be?
3. how did you guys set your habitat up? I know a lot of people are for full house range, which we do support, but that currently isn’t an option unless we could cover all the floors with rugs, which just isn’t a financial option right now. THANK YOU so much in advance, and Im sorry this is so long.
