My bunny, in the past 3 days, is doing something odd every morning I go to give him food and he first sees me. I’ll walk by and he’ll stand on all four legs, arch his back, and open his mouth at me. Kind of like a cat hissing angrily. I’m very confused. Have I done something wrong? Is he stretching? He has food and water, and we let him out every day or nearly every day with free range. I came here hoping for answers.

As a side note, were not sure if he is a boy or girl, he’s too young, but we call him a he.

Other side note, he seems very upset with me lately .

        Thanks for your time.

        Beth

          Hi Beth

Is your rabbit making a noise when it does this?

If there’s no noise, I think what you’re describing is just stretching and a yawn.

click here to see google search results of bunny yawn. Warning: viewing these images is likely to make you yawn!

They typically put their front legs forward and butt in the air, stretching and yawning at same time. Sometimes they’ll sitting more upright on the hind feet,  pull head back and yawn.

I was thinking it was most likely a stretch, but he’s my baby and I want to make sure he’s okay.
              Thanks!

I agree, it sounds like a stretch and yawn to me too.
