Hi! I have a beautiful bunny named P that we got from someone a few years ago that they’d bought from a pet store. We are unsure how old she is exactly but we believe around 3 years. She is a very solitary and antisocial bunny but I’ve always done what I can to make sure she is comfortable, i.e.: treats when she lets me pet her, and an open door policy on her cage where if it is safe, she is always allowed out. This worked well up until a few weeks ago when I replaced the carpet in my room with hard wood flooring. When I opened her cage door for the first time, she came out for a bit, but hasn’t come back out since. It has been around 3 or 4 weeks and It is entirely too long for her to be cooped up in that cage. I have placed blankets all around the outside of her cage to try and coax her into coming out onto a soft surface when I sensed the floors might be the problem, but how do I teach her that the floor is now safe for her to go on? She is an antisocial aggressive bunny by nature and I’m afraid it’s near impossible to pick her up to show her the floor.
Please help!
