        Greetings bunny people!

Since we’re back in the summer season, I thought that Snowball could use something to cool himself off with. And while I was shopping in the supermarket, I came across this cooling mat that looked perfect for him. The only problem is, it only mentioned dogs and cats in the description and while it didn’t warn against use by rabbits, I just wanted to see if I could still purchase it. It says that it doesn’t use any water or electricity so I presume it’s safe but I will link the website down below anyway.

        Thank you!

I think my biggest concern would be the bunny chewing it. Not sure what it looks like but looks pretty bunny-tempting to me. If you do buy it, make sure to keep a close eye and if he’s chewing it you’ll have to take it away.

Have you checked out the “Cooling Tips” info here on BinkyBunny in the “Bunny Info” section?

I had a look at the B & M mat, then searched on Amazon. I’ve just ordered two of these…

Thought these would be good in the current weather – days of rain is leaving the grass too wet to put buns out, with these they could lie dry on wet days, with the ground sheet over the top of the run, and hop down to eat. Then they can use them to lie cool on hot days, and use it as a shady tunnel too?

I got the one from B&M with the intention of using it during the day & removing it at night. It is 8 separate cells filled with a non toxic gel according to the box. I was using it during the day and removing it at night but it got left in one night after I fell asleep on the sofa and woke up in a daze and didn’t remove it before trotting off to bed.

I went to feed them in the morning and there was a hole in it,  instant panic thinking bunnies were going to get sick. I watched back on the bunny cam and Cinders had done a stretch on it puncturing it, when she realised she had started licking the gel out of it and Red had a go too. I took it out and cut off the cell with the hole in, rabbits have been fine (thank god) but I wouldn’t leave it in their cage again just in case. It is now sat just outside their cage so they can only use it when free roaming

The blue thing next to the cage is the cool pad. They love it, its a shame I have got to keep it outside of their run
