Welp, I’ve finally come to ask for help. Long time binkybunnybrowser, first time posting. And here’s some background!
My little girl is a beautiful chestnut agouti mini lop. And she is completely wonderful. She’s only about three months old. She’s very energetic, loving, and tolerant of my shenanigans. She’s mostly free roam (she does have a big ol’ puppy pen for night time), and very well behaved. She hasn’t gone for any of my wires (yet?). To my surprise, she’s even got the litter box down already, after only a couple weeks and hardly any effort on my part. The only issue I’ve had was a few weeks ago when I got a new couch, when she suddenly became so determined to get behind/under it that she was going at the carpet just hoping it’d give. That calmed down when I provided another big box for her to sit in next to the couch.
Now things are better, and she is happily zooming and binkying around me as I type this. And making it a little bit of a challenge by trying to climb on my keyboard and nudge my hands. Oh, there she goes, flopped upside-down across the room. Guess she tuckered herself out.
My current issue: My little girl STILL has no name! I’ve been lucky enough to have her happy, hoppy, fuzzy presence around for almost a month, but I just haven’t been able to name her. When I first saw her photo and started prepping to bring her home, I thought I would name her Kiwi. When she was that little, she just looked like a little Kiwi (the bird and the fruit). But when I met her, I realized it just didn’t fit. She’s much more serious than the name Kiwi. She has her sassy little moments, and her “intimidating” moments (She does NOT seem to like my boyfriend, despite the fact that he lives here, too. And she will show that by thumping at him if he’s been particularly annoying to her.).
So I’ve just been calling her Bun. (Or Buffy the Banana Slayer, since she grabbed a banana peel out of my hand and tried to drag it off the other day) But she doesn’t have a true name, and I can’t figure out one that really just clicks. Help!
(Oh, and here’s the little bun)

Henrietta! OMG YES! Definitely Henrietta – such a pretty name for a beautiful bunny!
DON’T anyone else bother to post…. name has been CHOSEN – thanks but NO thanks!
Haha Andi! I’m trembling in my boots now!
Welcome Laurora! You bun-girl is beautiful!!! I love chestnut agouti bunnies!
Did someone say “unnamed bun”?!?!?!?!?!?!?! =D
I don’t know why, but she looks like a Daisy to me.
I agree with AndHenry, Henrietta is a beautiful name for her.
Daisy is pretty too of course. It fits an agouti bunny.
She’s incredibly pretty! Buffy (Bunny) the Banana-Slayer is more of a title imo. A job-description, like. Sth for her to put on her calling cards. In case people have lots of bananas bothering them, they could just call her and she’d rid them of the problem.
Buffy would make an adorable name.
I like Pippa or Pippy for her also.
Or if you want something topical, How about Hillary?
Potential leader, still undecided…it sort of relates. :p
She looks like a beautiful ‘Beatrice’ to me! ![]()

Nooo, Bernie!!! ![]()
Short for Bernadette? Energizer Bernie?
Oh, Henrietta and Beatrice are so regal and proud. Bernadette, too. Names to grow into! And how cute would it be to call her little Bea? But Hillary just says “human name” to me, I can’t see a little bunny Hillary!
I love flower names, too. That’s my inner botanist showing, I guess. I have a close friend with a dog named Daisy; so maybe Poppy? Holly?
I considered Pippin for a while, maybe Pippa would be the perfect little girly version of that.
I’ve also been playing with something like Dusty, maybe. I think she’s got worse allergies than me! And she’ll point out where I haven’t mopped or dusted well enough recently. Like when I do laundry, she’ll follow me in and try to squeeze behind the dryer. Only to pop out a second later sneezing dust out of her nose.
Oh, names are so hard, decisions, decisions ?
Primrose,
Foxglove
Althea
But Holly is really lovely. Holly Golightly.
Oh my goodness! She looks exactly like my Chomondeley! I would say Athena or Artemis (I know I’m such a mythology nerd
) Or you could name her Chumley
Iris is a nice name. I like Dandelion too.
It’s kind of crazy that they look exactly alike! ![]()
I love both the names Henrietta and Beatrice. I named my childhood Shih-Tzu Beatrice and we called her “Bea”.
Or how about a variant of Pippin, Piper? I love that name too.
Some other pretty girl names: Ophelia, Amelia, Callista, Elenora
Your new bun is beautiful. ![]()
Okay, how about Daffodil then?
We can’t name her Henrietta. That name belongs to a very special chicken. ![]()
Cleo because she’s beautiful and imperious like the famous queen of the Nile.
Hermione because of her hair colour and intelligence.
Or Poppy because she’s so stinkin’ cute. ![]()
You’re right, LBJ, Henrietta is a chicken.
Petunia!
Delphine!
Just sticking with the flower theme here.
LOL, true! The name Henrietta has been taken…. sorry Moxie. Just thought I’d try AGAIN – who knows? Ha ha!
Poppy is cute! Poppy the Loppy. : )
I’ll have to post some updated pictures of Henrietta so you all can see how she’s doing. ![]()
Here’s a few floral names:
Amaryllis
Tiger Lily
Honeysuckle (Honey for short)
Petunia
And a couple “Animal” names:
Pigeon
Mouse
Cleo’s a cute name. And if you want it to be more “regal” you could name her Cleopatra and Cleo for short (that’s what we did with our cat)
Honeysuckle is a beautiful name! Mine are about to bloom here.
Mallow
Dahlia
Myosotis
Oleander
Yes Moxie, we need pics!
Haha! Poppy the Loppy!
I’m working on trying to get a good pic!
We have a really mean rooster, so it’s hard to get in the coop to take a pic without blocking the run off when he’s in the run, but then Henrietta is in the run. And if the rooster is in the coop, she’s always in there too. T.T ![]()
Poppy the Loppy is just brilliant!
Well, all of your bunny names have been noted for future fuzzies (I particularly liked Honeysuckle, that is adorable), but my bunny inadvertently gained a different name over the weekend. I had some family over for a few days, and it happened accidentally but clicked immediately. I know the name has been used before, but it just fit so well.
Anyway, one of my sisters called and asked about little bun, and she (thinking bun was a boy) suggested we call her Louie. When my sister discovered bun was a girl, she switched it to Louise.
A couple days later, when I had that family over, little bun started binkying all over the living room and zooming around her favorite path. At one particularly high and crazy binky (right over her toy ball), one of my family members yelled, “Jeez Louise!” I had told everyone about my sister’s name suggestion, and that’s just when it clicked. We all just started laughing when we realized how perfect it was. And, for the rest of the weekend, someone had to say “Jeez Louise!” every time she hopped around.
So meet little Louise, who I think it quite content with her new name. (Or with the fact that I bought fresh bananas yesterday, either way
)
Hi Louise! Did that mean old banana attack your booplesnoot! ![]()
I don’t think I’ve ever met a bunny named Louise. Very cute!
I can’t think of anything that rhymes with it apart from the rhyme when you’re at the dinner table : “Cheese Please Louise” (in our household anyway !)
What a cute way she got her name! Louise! It’s a very pretty name and quite uncommon for a bun, I think. And how adorable she does look! Maybe she’s happy both with her name and the fresh banana?
Great story! And a cute name!
I like the name Louise. Anyone a fan of “Bob’s Burgers”. I love the girl Louise on that show!
Cute pic too!
I thought of that, too, LittlePuffyTail!
Especially cute since Louise on the show always wears a bunny ear hat. And she’s got a pretty sassy attitude.
Very cute name!
LPT: We love Bob’s Burgers! It’s my favorite show on Netflix right now.
