  mOXie has been with us for a year and some months. The vet estimated her day of birth as February 13 2015. mOXie is awesome and amazing, she lives in an apartment and hired us to tend to her daily needs. She has her own room and shares the rest of the one bedroom apartment with us. Currently, we live in Anchorage AK and, in a month and a half, we are moving to Juneau AK.
  
  She has two stuffed animal friends, Ira the owl and Star Bun. Before her surgery, she enjoyed humping Ira. Now, she does the Saturday night stretch near him and her water bottle. She used to toss Star Bun around and now likes to groom him.
  
  We’ve been toying with the idea of getting a second bunny (by “we” I mean me.) My boyfriend has been the voice of reason. If it had not been for him, I’d already be the crazy bunny lady. So anyways, now that we’ll be moving to a 3bd house, he is cool with welcoming a second bunny!
  
  So I’m excited and anxious because I AM SO HAPPY TO GET A SECOND BUN but anxious to do it right.
  Here is where I’m welcoming your wisdom, knowledge, experience and advice:
  
  Should we get a baby bunny or match mOXie’s age?
  Male or Female?
  Get bunny Before we move to Juneau or After? I will be off for two weeks before moving
  (note to self: find out if there’s vet that is experienced with buns)
  
  Should we even get a second bunny… is she lonely… Too many questions…

  It’s usually easiest to bond a female rabbit to a male rabbit (spayed and neutered of course), so since you have a female, you may want to look for a male companion for her. If you get a baby bunny, you could bond them but then you would have to separate them when the new bunny matured and started dealing with hormones. Then you would have to re-bond them after the new bunny’s surgery and recuperation. It would be a lot easier to get an adult rabbit from a rescue that was already neutered (or spayed) and then you could start the bonding procedure right away and it would be a permanent bond with no interruptions.

  Haha, replace boyfriend with husband and that’s me exactly!
  
  A new house is perfect for bonding buns because it’s new territory. You could check if there are rabbit rescues in your new area and you could maybe bring your new bun on “bunny dates”. Most rescues allow this as it is easier to bond bunnies if they are allowed to pick their own buddy.
