  So my baby boy bunny cookie has been acting weird today. Twice today he has been set off by something that made run around in what I’m assuming is fear because he hits the walls out of control and stops when he finds a safe place.
  
  So some back ground about my bunnies. I have two bunnies, marshmallow is a girl about 7 months or so. Cookie is maybe 3-4 months old. We’ve had marshy since November and got cookers in late March. Marshy just got spayed this Wednesday and Saturday we have tried to slowly get them back together but she has seemed aggressiveish towards him when we let them play together. They have separate cages and we usually place them by each other.
  
  So today I was letting cookers have the run of their 10X12 bedroom that is baby gated off. I was in the kitchen and I heard him chewing the gate so I went to pet him and then I picked him up to cuddle him a second and talk to him. He started to squirm so I started putting him down and he jumped out of my arms 18″ or so off the ground. He was outside the gate so I had to grab quickly and put him on the room. That was the first episode he started running around the room and hitting the walls uncontrollably… he got into a spot he felt and safe sat there breathing and looking around. After a few minutes I was able to pick him up and place him in his cage. He started acting normal again after some time eating, cleaning himself etc.. so I kept checking on him every so often. I would often his cage to pet him and talk to him.
  
  After about 4-5 hours and a few minutes after I checked on him I hear his bell toy ringing like crazy. I get in there and be is running in his cage crashing in to the sides of his cage. I’m trying to get the top half of his cage off and at one point he sat on his butt and screamed. Then he got out and back to his safe place. I let marshy out try and calm him down but it only agitated him more. I think maybe she was the trigger some how the second time. I have since separated the cages in two rooms. He hid in a card board tunnel for like 30mins.
  
  I called the emergency vet and they have no exotic vets on call tonight. The Dr said there keep an eye on him and keep his schedule the same.
  
  Anyone have any ideas why he had two spaz attacks today? Thanks for any help

  Did you get to the vets? That sounds very frightening.
  
  I have no idea what could cause him to act that way. Frightened bunnies do run and hide, but the screaming and running into walls is concerning. I think you did right in separating the cages and keeping a very close eye on him.When you do go to the vet, make sure they check his vision, ears, etc. Has he been pooping? Screaming can be a result of pain. Have you checked him for bites, etc?
  
  Could a cat or other animal have scared him though a window? A spider? When you tried to re-introduce your two bunnies did they fight? I ask because bunnies do hold grudges and a fight with another bunny could have caused Cookie to associate your other bunny with danger, therefore scaring him when Marshmallow made sudden movements, etc.
  
  I do hope someone else will post with more insight-I’m just guessing.

  I have been watching on the past few days. He seems to be acting back to normal. I haven’t reintroduced them yet. I keep the cages completely separate. They can physically see each other only for a few minutes but I am not letting them play. When I got a hold of his vet he said Cookie may be able to sense the changes in Marshmallow whether it be a new scent, sense her discomfort or what have you.
  
  Because that was the only change he said that could have been the trigger. He told me to keep them separated for a week then try to slow reintroduce them to each other. Marshmallows healing period will be over Friday so maybe she will act normal and be herself again. The vet said if the behavior continues then we will start looking at him since then it would seem it was not because of marshmallow.
  
  He’s been acting normal eating pooping peeing etc.. It’s just when I go to work and I come home I am worried he has hurt himself. After a few more days I think I’ll be ok. He’s been binking, running around sniffing, and what not. So I am getting more comfortable that he is back to him self.
