Yeah, except I know they are at capacity. I’m in the NYC area which has outlawed the sale of rabbits in pet stores (which is AWESOME), but that also means that the shelter system has been inundated with abandoned rabbits (rather than people returning them to the stores themselves), and the rescues pull rabbits from the shelters as they have space.
I’m just hoping that they are able to provide rehoming guidance or even tips to help the owners keep the bunnies. One is a baby and I’m sure its acting out and that’s why they want to get rid of the poor thing. Its so cute. I wish I had the ability to take him in, but I’m still settling with the rabbit I have now.
The other thought I had, about the baby anyway, was that this is a breeder or an accidental litter due to the “rehoming fee.” Its really not that much, I paid more for my rescue, but I had that thought too. Either way the bunny is adorable and I hope he finds a good home. I wish I could save them all!
