I really don’t know, because I just use vinegar and water

What are you cleaning? I would think most common household soaps are fine (come to think of it I used dishwashing liquid for cleaning food/water bowls), it’s just important to make sure that you rinse really well afterwards and dry it off.

I would avoid bleach and other really harsh cleaners though.

Same as above. I scrub out their bowls and water holders with dish soap and then rinse and dry. Their toilets I dump out in the trash, spray with water and vinegar and then wipe down before I refill. I also use the water and vinegar spray to clean up any accidents or clean the bottome plastic trays on their cage when I put in new straw. The bottom of their toilets almost never ends up looking spotless clean but I dont worry about it as long as it has been sprayed down and wipes out well.

Like the previous posters, besides using the vinegar and water solutions, I use liquid dish detergent. I only use natural/organic detergent, like Seventh Generation. It’s not full of chemicals and it’s not tested on animals.
