I have a roughly 8 or 9 month old lionhead rabbit that all of a sudden stopped eating. I have taken him to the vet, who did a full physical exam, xrays, and some other tests but ultimately told me she has no idea whats wrong with him, but he may have GI stasis. She gave me a couple medicines to help “coat his stomach” as well as also giving me the critical care.
The ONLY thing he is eating is his orchard grass. He seems interested in dandelion greens and carrots, however he doesn’t eat them. He is also not eating. I have given him a couple rounds of the critical care however he is being stubborn and does not want to swallow it. I don’t want to keep forcing more in his mouth cause I’m afraid he’s going to aspirate it.
He will only drink water from a syringe, I have tried to get him to drink from his crock as well as a water bottle and he won’t take it.
His poop is normal size and consistency however since he is not eating there is much in his litter box, and since he is not drinking he is not peeing.
Any suggestions on what might be going on other than the GI Stasis? Also, any tips would be greatly appreciated
