Hi, first time poster here!
I have a 7.5 year old rabbit which up until this point has been perfectly healthy, On Friday whilst she was being groomed I noticed the her shoulder joint wasn’t sitting as flush as the left hand side one, i had a feel about and as she was hopping fine, I decided to make an appointment with the vet for yesterday (Tuesday).
On Monday I was doing my normal routine checks and had a look at her joint again, it had moved again further outwards, but she also appeared to have a solid large lump/mass (about the size of an apple halved) with a smaller, softer lump on the end.
Fast forward to yesterday, took her to the vet, who attempted to draw liquid out from the lump pretty unsuccessfully, the vet herself kindly looked at the bloods and she was seeing things that she didn’t recognise so they have been sent off to the lab for testing.
She seems to think it could be either cancer, a massive joint swelling or an access, likely to be one of the first 2.
I guess the reason why I’m posting is that I’m panicking a bit, she’s plodding on fine and eating/drinking etc perfectly, Iv brought her inside but I’m worried incase it’s something infectious which me or my partner or our little dog could catch?
I’m just looking for anyone who can relate, is it likely to be something which can be treated? Is it infectious?
Please help x
