Thanks for posting. I know some people think taking something like this seriously is a bit of a joke, but it’s no joke at all. This issue is near and dear to my heart. The reason I lost Bandit was because of a handling miss-hap and I was always so careful. It’s not just a scary story, it’s a serious issue. Bandit struggled in my arms and nearly leapt to the ground, I held onto him to prevent that in fear he would break his back but ended up hurting him. Me holding too tight resulted in a ruptured cecum which there was absolutely nothing the vet could do to fix. To be the cause of your pet’s death is the most heartbreaking thing, knowing that you’ve failed them.
Never rush your rabbit. Never pick them up when they aren’t in the mood for it, don’t force it. Let them run away, and try again a little later when they may be more settled. I never thought that I would lose my little guy so early and so sudden from such a thing.
