Hi everyone, first off let me just say that I am a first time bunny owner.. I’m very new at this and I just got my first bunny for Christmas, and I’m still trying to get the hang of taking care of her. But anyways, I have a 4 month old female rabbit named Leia! I was told that she is a Holland Lop, but I’m starting to doubt that considering how big she is getting, and she has very large ears that just stick straight up
But regardless of what she is, I love her. Anyways, just recently I moved her and her cage into a whole room just for her! I couldn’t have her free roam in my bedroom without my supervision because of all of the cords and stuff that she likes to chew on, and i can’t have her free roam the rest of my house because i have a dog and two cats who wouldn’t get along with her very well
. I felt awful keeping her in the cage for most of the day while I’m not at home or don’t have time to sit and let her run around for a couple hours..So, I have cleaned out a spare bedroom for her and have her in there with her cage door open so she can enter and exit as she pleases.. I’m just looking for any suggestions that you bunny professionals may have.. Should I let her roam around that room freely all night? Or should I put her in the cage over night? Also, I’m just wondering simply, if she will be okay in there by herself? I know that running around a room alone all day is better than being in a cage alone all day.. But I worry that she will get bored or lonely in a room all by herself with the door closed.. she has her cage, food, water, hay, and some treats.. but I just worry that she wont be happy in there all alone.. I can’t keep the door open because of my other pets, and my cats can jump clear over a baby gate. So does anyone have and toy suggestions or any kind of ideas that might keep her entertained throughout the day? Keep in mind that I do go in and check on her frequently and talk to her and spend some time with her when I can. So does anyone have any answers to my questions? And with that, any simple suggestions to keep my bun bun happy in her room? Thanks so much!!!
