One idea is to sit where he lives/runs and read a book or magazine; or go online with your phone or laptop– just make sure all cords are out of reach. Eventually he’ll approach you more on his own.
Our bun is pretty curious but will run if you try to pet him. But then he spins around and has to come back to sniff whomever… rabbits have a curiosity about them that’s endearing !
We wrap some un-dyed twine around a small baked pine cone, he likes to eat the pine cone as well !

I have seen some cool “puzzle” toys online. You hide treats in them, and the bunny has to pick up the pieces, and find where the treat is hidden. Maybe your bunny would like picking up and tossing the pieces around to hunt for the treat.
I got my bunny as an early Christmas gift, and I think teaching her tricks helped us bond a lot. For a long time, she wouldn’t sit in my lap for more than a few seconds, and she hated being picked up. I started by teaching her to stand up for a treat, and then taught her “lap.” She got a treat if she jumped in my lap. Then I taught her, “nose.” When I say, “nose,” and point to my nose, she will bump her nose to mine. After doing these tricks with her for a while, she would get so excited when I came and sat down on the floor, she would start doing all the tricks without waiting for the treats. Now she gives kisses, and will sit or lay in my lap, and on my chest when I lay down, and she isn’t afraid of being picked up anymore.
Someone suggested to me to hold up some playing cards and let the bunny take them from you and toss them. My buns didn’t like it, but she almost never tosses anything, so maybe your bun will enjoy it.

My French lop has a few balls in her room that my kids would play with — the inflatable ones — she loves to either pass them to us or actually climb on top of it and then as she slides off it she kicks it with her hind legs. It’s pretty funny to watch, lol. She has a puzzle toy too, but she’s not too keen on that one. Her favorite toy is one I bought that’s a tiny cardboard box with all sorts of little things attached, like a bell and a few pieces of apple wood. That’s her throwing toy.

Sadly Chewie quickly figured out and then grew bored with his puzzle toys.

But since babyhood he has adored his beach ball – still his favourite toy.

It’s hollow with an adjustable hole in the top, so I put her pellets in it and close the hole almost completely, and she has to nudge and chase it around to get her dinner out. She loves it and gets very excited when she sees me holding it. We have also made packages of hay and a few treats wrapped into a pyramid of brown paper and tied at the top with twine. Then we put a couple of tiny holes in the paper and gave it to the rabbits to rip apart/toss around – they love it and it’s also hilarious to watch them destroy the bags.

Thabbit likes to toss “Baby Links” around. He actually has a preference for one specific type of link over others. We chain them together – his favorite is 2 or 3 chained together, but he’ll toss a single. Four gets to be too much for my little dwarf boy.

Hopper likes a brown bag packed with hay. I read that some rabbits like tossing around buckets? Never tried it.

I’ve given mine plastic flowerpots to play with but they’ve never been particularly bothered. Holding a piece of string in front of Molly’s nose is a fun game, it brings out her inner cat. She will also play chase sometimes if she’s a bit energetic and I run away from her, she’ll come shooting after me a few times with a few binkies thrown in.
