Neutering males is done for behavior and pregnancy prevention, not health. 5 months is pretty young still, so it is possible he will develop problem behavior, such as spraying,in the next few months. If you plan to get another rabbit in the future, it is a good idea to have him neutered while he is still young and healthy. If he never develops problematic behavior and you have no plans for another bunny then you can skip the neuter.
I wouldn’t have described healthy testes as “pointy” but they aren’t round ball or like most other mammals testes. They are long ovals. Also, they are not held together in a single dangly scrotum, they are separated to the sides of the genitals. They are sort of angled. The appearance of them varies depending on temperature and mood. They can even be sucked completely up into bunny’s body and disappear when bunny feels they are threatened. (I have seen Porky’s testes numerous times, but our vet never has.)
