Hi guys, ik this is commonly asked & ive read the posted info around it & collected a few ideas, but im wondering if anyone has any other ideas or similar experiences

2 months ago i moved house & the rabbits also changed cage style (from 2 storied hutch to an indoor v large cage). He’s almost 5 & i had no issues with him in his old cage which had a very large grate drop down collector thing he toileted in. But he had a kitty litter when he was in the house & he Always peed right next to it unless he knew i was watching then he would actually use it (he never soils the house though).

Anyway the above issue with his litterbox is happening in his new hutch & is making life miserable- its so hard to keep clean. He uses his box when im around/daytime, but at night he just goes in the cage not in the box!!

I was wondering about getting a nightlight, i know this sounds dumb as they have great night vision but i dont know what else to try

I dont think its a territorial issue, he’s been neutered for years & has never shown aggression about his cage, ive tried moving the LBox to where he goes (usually very near the box) but this doesnt help. I praise him when i see him use it, ive tried treats, nothing has worked. Im considering getting 2 just to cover up all the back of the cage space available for him to go in!

        Any advice?

It could be territorial as he gets used to the new place with new scents etc. Also, what kind of litter do you use? You said kitty litter? What kind? Is it scented? Do you put hay in it or have a hay rack by it so he can only eat the hay when he is in the box?

You said you had no issues with him in his last cage— but you also mentioned it had a drop down catch — the whole cage or his litterbox area only? Changes can be confusing to a bunny.
