Since he’s young, just a year old, I think he’s just getting his “adult color”. It’s not unusual for a bunny to have color-changes with more or less every molt or seasonal color-differences.

The cataract is imo more worrisome since he’s young. It could be from e cuniculi, a parasite that could have infected him even when he was in his mother’s tummy. The cataracts can’t be cured but you can eliminate the parasite with a 28-day course of fenbendazole (a de-wormer). You should consult with a vet.

Timothy hay and timothy pellets are prefect food for bunnies. If vitamix is a type of rabbit food that has pieces of seeds and nuts and dried fruit in it it’s less good, so you can cut that out entirely. It wouldn’t cause cataracts or a color-change though, what it could do is mess with his tummy (esp bits of dried fruit should only be given as a rare treat).

It is often hard to brush out all the hair. I use a self-cleaning slicker and I also pluck out tufts of hair that I see are loose. I finish by wetting my hands and run them through their fur. I have also started using a lint-roller (a generic, not a name-brand, name-brands have too sticky glue on them). I have had great success with lint rolling my buns, I got the tip from one of our members. I don’t do their faces of course , just back and sides. But my buns are not as skittish now as they were when they were younger.

You can use the rest of the vitamix as treats. F ex to make him less cross with you after a brushing =)
