3 months ago, my mom and I adopted a bonded pair of rabbits, Pecan and Lola, and yesterday when I got home from school, I found that Lola had unfortunately passed away. I guess I am coming here because I need closure. I’m not sure what happened. She had been acting fine, eating and everything and I just find her in her hutch, motionless. The people we adopted her and pecan from had said they were about 2 years old, they were bunnies from different parents, but they had been together for basically the entirety of their lives. I want to know what the possible causes of this are, I can’t bear to think that I could have caused this, or any of my family members could have. I am hoping one of you can share with me what you think her cause of death was, if this means anything, when I found her, she was completely sprawled out, and her neck was turned sharply to the side, I fear this could have been from some vegetables we gave her, possibly had pesticides on it or something. Any help and/or sympathy would be greatly appreciated.
