I’ve not been on much lately, but have a question about sore-hocks.
Vinny is a 9 month old mini-rex that lives solely inside our home with his sister Velvet. We’re working on bonding them with our big buns, Tilly and Duncan.

Our Vinny has thinning fur on his hocks but we keep an eye on them… He’s got towels, blankets, memory-foam, carpeting, pillows… he’s just not interested in staying on them. He follows me everywhere and if he’s checking something out will willingly stand in his waterbowl rather than trying to go around it…
The problem I’ve got at the moment is that I noticed on one of his FRONT feet that he’s got a pink spot that is like sore-hocks… It’s a rich pink color but doesn’t look inflamed and doesn’t seem to bother him… nor his it calloused. It almost looks like a guinea pig “bean” poking through his think but dark foot fur. I’ve not heard of buns getting sores on their front feet without some kind of injury if they are not on wire-bottom housing… So does anyone have experience with this? What can be done about it? I really don’t think he would appreciate having cushy socks/shoes made for him but I don’t know how to cushion his little toes.
