I’ve been awol for ages – I’d meant for my next post to be of their Christmas photos… but, it’s been ages.
Long story short, Albus ended up in the wrong area and jumped into the bucket of water and bleach. I didn’t see him jump in, but I saw him spring back out.
I think he landed on the mop because his feet were wet and he was covered in splashes but had he landed in the water he would have been mostly submerged.
I grabbed hold of him as quickly as possible and made sure he couldn’t lick himself. While I was doing this, my wife googled the safest way to bathe him.
We put a tea towel in the sink and ran about an inch or two of warm water onto it. My wife wet him rump upwards and I held his face up (his face, mercifully was entirely dry). He started to disgruntled, so I went to get pellets. He sat patiently for the rest of his wash, eating from my hand.
My wife them towel and blow dried him (low setting) while I stroked his head and provided yet more pellets. He wasn’t keen on the noise pre-pellets. Thank goodness he’s a sucker for food.
He was back to his usual self the moment the blow drier was turned off.
I hope he doesn’t get bleach burns and that we’ve got enough off that he won’t eat it.
He looked quite sweet in the sink (no photos because we were rushed to keep him from going into shock) which was relieving because the one time I had to bathe my cat was traumatic for all involved.
We’ll be watching him closely and if anything seems off we’ll take him to the vets. He’s resting at the moment (which makes me paranoid – but the other two are too, so…)
