  This morning when I went to let Toph out of her cage I noticed her behavior was not normal… She is usually very hyper when she first comes out but today she just wanted to stay in her bed. I lured her out with some greens and saw that she is curling her left front foot under and putting weight on the other foot. She is putting a little weight on the sore foot but then curls it under again.
  
  The rest of the day she has just been sleeping which is normal for her during the day but she is usually relaxed and flops out and when I go up to her she usually reacts and wants to be petted but she is just staying still
  
  She is eating still but being really fussy and only eating veggies.
  
  She went to the vet yesterday for a general checkup and got her first vaccination, when she came back she was super happy and bouncing around so maybe she sprained her foot then? But she seemed fine yesterday so I don’t know what she did to her foot
  
  Mum thinks I’m silly for worrying so much but I can’t help it. She says we will leave it to heal on the weekend and if its still bad call the vet on Monday. I don’t know what to do and I feel so bad for her

  Were you able to feel it to make sure something wasn’t very obviously wrong? If everything feels like it’s where it’s supposed to be, then it could be a sprain. The best thing to do is keep her confined so she can’t move around. She should really have a pain reliever though. Definitely get her to the vet if she doesn’t show improvement.

  I felt her foot and it feels normal. I gave her some grass and she happily ate that and seems to be acting a bit more alert though she is still not putting weight on the foot. When she came back from the vet yesterday she was so happy to be home she was jumping around like a crazy bunny so i’m thinking she hurt her foot from that…
  I just closed her cage, though she isn’t moving much anyway but she seems more relaxed then she was this morning so that’s making me feel a bit better…

  Is she eating and drinking OK-otherwise acting ok?
  You could compare the two feet as well-so you’d maybe have someone help you so you can touch both feet at the same time to compare for any difference. You’d also be looking for heat (indication of inflammation and injury) and a reaction (which would indicate pain). If they feel similar with no heat and no reaction she is probably just fine.

  She is eating fine now, I was worried this morning because she she had hardly touched her pellets which is kind of unheard of for her since she LOVES food. But she has eaten some herbs and a bunch of grass. I just saw her drinking some water too which is good. I felt both her paws and they feel the same and there is no heat on her sore one so that’s good news The only reaction I got was her not wanting me to touch either of her paws which is understandable.

  Toph is back to her normal happy self again Her foot seems to be fine again and she is eating her hay.
  I’m so glad it wasn’t too serious!
