You are not supposed to ever see the cecals if your bun is totally healthy and its tummy is in perfect order. The cecals should be eaten the moment they emerge from the rear end. The bun sits on its back feet and leans forward and eats the cecals. This often happens at night, cecals are sometimes referred to as night droppings.
Some buns eat some of their round poop as well. It’s not essential for their survival like eating cecals is. But they might still do it. It’s not regarded as a sign of something bad, it’s just something some buns do. Some buns even drink their own urine, and that isn’t a sign of sth being wrong either.
As for the round poop smelling like the cecals I’m not sure. They do emerge from the same exit-passage, of course. Some bunny poop are shiny, slightly bigger in size and have a strong smell and those are “marking-poops”, i e territorial droppings. The smell is usually more pungent though. It’s not a pleasant smell at all for a human.
