When can you start feeding veggies to bunnies?

  Chomondeley is eight weeks old, and I’m not sure when to start feeding him vegetables… I’m supposed to keep him on free-feed and hay for a month, but the breeder never said anything about veggies. I haven’t fed him any yet, but I’m not sure.

  The House Rabbit Society recommends intro of veggies at 12 weeks. Before that, unlimited pellets, alfalfa and grassy hay.
  
  Then you start slow, with one veggie at a time, small piece. If that is well tolerated, you can introduce another veg a few days later. And so on. Good starter-vegs are f ex cilantro and romaine lettuce.

  Aww, thank you about the name. It’s the British spelling for “Chumley.” It just seemed to fit him Today, he did some spazzy baby-bunny binkies! It warmed my heart to seem him leaping around clumsily and flicking his ears. I’m considering today a success!

  Cholmondely is a very distinguished, noble name for a bun – and buns are of course very distinguished and noble creatures. You can ask him stuff like “Would Sir Chumley care for a bit of pellets this fine afternoon?” =)

  LOL bam- yes I should he is quite noble with his spazzy binkying- he did it again today and nearly fell over- cracked me up
