I noticed a few days ago, when I was attempting to brush Kraken, that he has a line of fur that sticks out on his hindquarters. He is done shedding (finished over a month ago) but this line there kind of sticking up off of his back down to his tail. I tried to get some pictures but I’m not sure if you can tell what I mean from them. Im curious as to what is going on. Kraken is a 3 pound Holland Lop if that matters

My rabbit has the same line. I assumed it was akin to a human “part” or cowlick where the fur meets along the spine. If anyone else knows more, I’d be glad to hear it.

Mine have that also, more BB than Josephine. His hair is really soft and fluffy where hers is more course.

Hey. So, I’ve noticed this on Char-Char too! I did some research, and it was saying among the lines of their fur bing nice and healthy is what it’s a signal for. And my rabbit is healthy, so I could believe this. This is copied from a website, not my words, but this might help. “I have only recently heard of a prime line and it was explained to me that it means the rabbit is in perfect fur condition. However, I think it can be genetic too because I have seen it on rabbits that were not in such great condition. So I’d say that it can probably happen both ways.

                    Interesting!

Coincidentally, one of my rabbits has a short line like in the photo on his back at the moment. I was wondering about it just yesterday.

I’ll lock this thread now as it was started in 2015.
