I would really like to let my bun Milli live as a free range bunny- she’s not destructive at all and just wants to be able to run.  I’ve ordered a carpet to cover my hardwood floors because she has trouble getting traction on them.

My one issue is territory pooping.

She is spayed, has been for a year, but just isn’t 100% good with pooping in her litter box.  She won’t pee outside of it, though.

Does anyone have any ideas to help get her to use her litter box more?

The best you can do is pick up poops quickly and put them in the litter box; and add more boxes (who wants to run far to find a toilet? ).
Honestly there will always be some stray poops, as long as they aren’t peeing I’d call that very successful

that’s sort of what I figured. I can deal with daily cleanup of a few poops.

I bought a little bissell bagless canister vac to keep in my living room just for stray poops. Lol. But I keep Buns’ cage in the living room and leave the door open. He’s really good about going to his litter box in there and he will still go in it to hang out even wit full run of the living room. I think he likes having his own “personal space” and it keeps him from using the bathroom other places.

I set her up with a medium sized dog crate that has her litter box inside and her food and water next to it. I also set up a box under my window that hopefully she’ll realize she can sit on and look outside. A rug for my room comes in on the 22nd, so she’ll be happy not to be on hardwood floors. I have a handheld vac already that I can use.
