I noticed that a shelter does that in our state, except the microchipping. They ask for donations and gave about the same prices as you did as a suggested donation. They do hair trims too. I wish they were closer honestly. It’s about a 2 hour drive, so I wouldn’t want to stress her out. I just want to see someone do it that is more confident and knowledgeable than myself. All that toe hair and black nails makes me way to leary of doing it myself, without at least getting some in person instruction.

As you can see Willow could use a little hair cut.

Even though I volunteer at the rescue I’m always afraid I will pass something on to my bunnies at home. Rescues have their bunnies checked but somethings probably aren’t routinely checked and it is those that i worry about. I wear a completely different pair of boots and take them off outside after reading about that EC being contracted through urine.

I take mine to the vets for a trim. Maybe I’m just overly paranoid though.

@ Bunluv: I experienced EC with my bunnies. One of my males got it first, but I didn’t notice he was dragging his (already lame) rear leg, untill he was dragging his good rear leg. Next thing I knew, his pal was dragging a leg. They were both treated with panacur which freaked me out, because it can cause loss of white blood cells. It was a scary experience. I cleaned out their enclosure, and kept ALL my animals away from it for at least 2 months, including their outdoor run. I even kept an emergency stack of panacur tablets for the cat abd dogs – just incase they caught it.
