If anyone has seen the bun playing in the leaves yesterday I would like I know your opinion. There is a new fb page for a bunny called
Bun bun where the bunny is outside in a huge pen and owner tossing leaves in the air and the bunny go crazy on them. You tel me if this is animal
Abuse or not. There are people messaging everyone that likes the video and fb page saying the bunny is scared. You be the judge.

Honestly, to me it doesn’t look like the bunny feels horribly threatened. The bunny does not run away from the leaves and continually exposes his/her stomach, which he/she probably wouldn’t do if he/she felt endangered. The bunny appears to look for the leaves.
I think the bunny just enjoys the leaves and interaction with the person.

She doesn’t look terrified to me. Maybe a bit annoyed though. Notice how her ears go back right before she attacks the leaves. She probably can’t figure out why that guy keeps throwing them at her.

Looks like she’s having a great time. Scared bunnies go to ground.

I agree she doesn’t seem scared. But she is attacking the leaves. She looks for them and runs up to them. Bunnies can be confrontational when they are faced with a threat, so I don’t really know. If it were a dog, it’d be a happy dog. But buns aren’t dogs. Tricky one, this! Very interesting. Thanks for sharing it.

The man seems to be doing it with good intent though, so there is love for the bun.

I saw this yesterday and was curious what everyone would say. I definately did not consider t his abuse. The bunny does not look terrified now do the owners have any intent to upset the bunny.

Whether the bunny is having fun, I couldn’t say. I have only had 2 bunnies. 1 many years ago and now Willow. I know when Willow throws with her toys, I think it’s anger. It’s usually when she’s been put in her pen and I’m pretty sure she is throwing them in a bit of a temper.

On the otherside, I would think chasing a bunny would scare them. Yet, it certaintly seems at times that Willow is instigating being chased. Instead of going to groom position when one of us go to pet her she will run instead sometimes. But if no one follows she keeps coming back and scratching our feet or periscoping at our feet. If we chase she does crazy running through the house with some binkys’.

I watched this video today itself and I think labeling it as ‘abuse’ is..a bit too much xD I do that with Moshu sometimes. Something similar. I scratch and lightly poke her nose just to tease her. She responds similarly; trying to get hold of my hand by standing on her hind limbs. She gets pissed but not scared.

Oh, I just remembered I have teased Yohio with the broom =( He gets so angry and attacks it. If I then raise it and start stroking his head with it, he immediately melts to the floor. I have only done this in conjunction with sweeping of course, when he’s come running to attack the broom.

He attacks the broom when I’m not around too, but since I started petting him with it, he seems to hate it a bit less.

Lol, I tease KitKat with the broom too…glad it’s not just me. Any time I’m sweeping the rug in her corner, she darts out at the broom and attacks it – I usually poke her in the bottom with it. She’s not scared or growling or anything, just cranky that it’s invading her space…so yeah, I don’t think this is bunny abuse. It’s just playing and teasing like people tend to do with their pets, or even other people, lol.
