  So this morning, I was about to give Toby his veggies and so for the meantime, I set him on a chair. As soon as I came back with the vegetables, he got excited and he jumped over the back of the chair and he fell. He’s walking fine, he seems fine, but I noticed he was chewing on something so I checked his teeth. His top front teeth are chipped, which I’m not too worried about because they’ll grow back and they aren’t chipped too short, but I noticed that one side of his front teeth has a crack towards the top. And I know he has some pain because he started flinching when I touched it. At this point, I don’t have enough money to take him to the vet if I had to and I’m worried that it could break off.
  
  So really, I’m wondering what can he eat without being in pain? Can he eat his hay and pellets? Can he eat any veggies? Will the crack heal? How long will it take for it to grow out? Should I be worried about anything else? I know at this point, I’m going to switch out his water bottle for a water bowl, and take out his chewing toys.

  I’d switch the bottle for a bowel, and watch him eat. Rabbits teeth continue to grow. So the crack should eventually grow out, but he needs to chew to keep the teeth filed. If it is too painful to chew, the tooth might get too long and need to be filed. See how he does when he eats.

  Sometimes when things like this happen you need to go to the vet. A vet visit should coast only about $65

  If his front teeth are uneven, a vet could clip them so they grow out evenly. It’s definitely something to be aware of, as Vanessa said. Vets generally don’t charge a lot to clip front teeth, but you’d likely have to pay an office visit fee.

  I’m taking my bunny to have his teeth trimmed in a few weeks. I was nervous about the cost. I know each vet charges differently, mine is $22 for the trimming, $55 for the anesthesia.
