Some vets, or more less-expensively pet shops, will trim your bunnies nails and will likely show you as well. But there are a few things to do if you want to do it yourself. Some people will hold a bunny on their back, but I would really recommend against this. It is extremely stressful for a bunny. You can try and “swaddle” your bun in blankets and hold them so they wont kick, or have a partner try and hold your bunny. When you do get to clipping, be careful you don’t clip it too short since rabbits have blood in their nails. By pressing lightly before going in and fully clipping you’ll be able to see if you draw any Since you are brand new, I don’t think it would be a bad idea to ask a vet, pet shop, or breeder if you have one in your area, to show you how to safety trim nails, especially if you don’t feel comfortable doing in yourself.

We went to our vet and she showed us how to properly pick him up as well as to cut his nails and we got to practice while we were there. I would highly recommend this! Of course picking him up at home is no where as easy but we are giving him a special food treat every time we handle him so that it will hopefully become more positive for him.
