Most rabbits prefer drinking from a bowl. It’s easier for them to access the water, and a more efficient way to drink the water. As long as the bowls are dumped out, wiped out and refilled daily, there shouldn’t be any problem with hygiene. The best bowls are heavy, crockery ones.

It’s a good thing that the bunny didn’t get injured from his collar getting caught on things. Collars should never be used on rabbits.

Neither peanut butter nor yogurt should be given to rabbits. Your rabbit is used to a water bowl now and it looks like he doesn’t care to use a bottle again, so it seems best to stick with a bowl.

A bit of apple juice watered down? Or banana juice? (banana juice is sooooo sscrummy, I love it!).
Something light in sugar? (shock horror! For temporary training purposes only!!) ;o)

I think it’s better for buns to drink from a bowl. It’s much more natural for them. And every bottle I’ve tried leaks. No worries about hygiene if you change the water every day and throw the bowl in with your dishes for a good cleaning once a week.

My little Olly had a water bottle in his cage,when he came here, he wouldn’t use it so I gave him a bowl, rabbits drink from rivers and streams in the wild, I was told by a vet its better for rabbits to drink from a bowl, something about the natural position the rabbit is in whilst drinking.

If bunny got water in their nose I think they would stop and sneeze, have you seen how rabbits drink? Its not like a dog, I did keep an eye on Olly the other day when he was ill and drank some water before we went to the vet because he was seriously ill, just to make sure he didn’t fall in his bowl, so I could help him if he needed help.
We were all told things when we were younger, I was told brown bread toast was good for rabbits, but it isn’t and if you think about it when we eat toast it gets wet in the tummy and goes into a soft dough,people used to think that if you had a hangover if you drank more alcohol it would cure it, erm no, but when in doubt, check it out, but if bunny is ill do keep a very close eye while you wait to be seen by the vet.
