HELP!!!!I just found a small black mole type lump on the top of Rookie’s head. The brush just got caught as I was brushing him. I never noticed it before so it’s gotta be new as he too is sensitive to it. I massage his head often and now he moves when I do…could be that the brush did just hit it so it could be sensitive but still…help!I try and get a look at it but the hair is right there and can’t even move it cause Rookie moves immediately. And I can’t seem to move the fur to even really see it or take a pic of it. I am freating out!!!

Is it smooth or bumpy? On top of the skin or under? Does the bump have legs?

I took rookie to the vet…she couldn’t find what I found and even I looked again and couldn’t find it. She told me too keep monitoring just in case it shows up again.
She suggested that he could have just hit his head and it was a scab…not sure…

The legs is a good question.  I found a tick on my kids once and when I first saw it I mistook it for a mole.

Considering that the “mole” disappeared by the time you got to the vet, I would definitely consider ticks a possibility and keep an eye out for them.

It looked like it had hair that was growing through it which is why I couldn’t even really move all of Rookie’s hair out of the way to get a good look or even a picture.
He hasn’t been outside in months and I don’t have any other animals. Not sure where he would get a tick from.
I will of course keep an eye out. I did a good cleaning of everything already but will do another thorough clean of the house to make sure.
