Hi All,
I have 2 bunnies a male and a female, they have been living together since they were 8 weeks old, they bonded perfectly on the first day and had no problems with them since.
They are a bit over 5 months old now.The male is not mature enough yet and the vet said that neutering is not necessary for weeks. Both the female was scheduled for spaying today.
I took her to the vet, everything went fine, she was doing good and started to eat. Then I brought her home and put her back in their cage. They greeted eachother and started grooming eachother like nothing happened.
Then after about 30 minutes my male bunny went crazy. He showed no interest in her at all not even this morning. He didn’t show any sexual behavior so far at all. But now he started humping her’ I had to separate them so that she can recover in peace.
It is so sad and annoying that they won’t get along at all now. He won’t do anything apart from trying to hump her when they are together.
Bad thing is that the vet said he won’t be neutered for some time.
But until then what should I do? I was hoping that they would continue living together in peace but it turned out the exact opposite.
Why did he start this now, right after she was spayed and never before?
Will he stop this at all? Will I be able to bond them again and see them live and play together in peace?
Please help if you can! Thanx
