  Hello! My holland lop, Anais, is both a lop and a disabled bunny, so her ears are in need of some cleaning. Specifically, her right ear since her right leg is spayed and she can’t clean it properly. There’s an accumulation of ear wax, and I absolutely do not posses the skill to go in with a q-tip. So, I am leaning very strongly toward a using a liquid cleanser, but I don’t know which to use.
  
  I have seen these mentioned for rabbits in my research so far:
  
  Euclens Otic Cleaner (active ingredients: propylene glycol, malic acid, benzoic acid, salicylic acid and eucalyptus oil)
  
  Nolvasan Otic (active ingredient: isopropanol)
  
  EPI-Otic Advanced Ear Cleanser (active ingredient: salicylic acid)
  
  All of these have the standard directions to put into ear canal, massage base of ear, and allow pet to shake it out, but none of these are officially for rabbits.
  
  Does anyone have any experience with any of these? Which one seems best? I’d appreciate any help. Thanks!

  I just dug out the old bottle that I had for my lop. When he had ear infections and needing ear cleaning, my vet prescribed Cerumene. The bottle says it’s for dogs and cats, with no mention of rabbits, but most veterinary medicines are like that. The ingredient listed is Squaline in an Isopropyl Myristate-Liquid Petroleum base.

  Thank so much for the reply, tobyluv. Do you remember if you were instructed to dry your lop’s ear after using Cerumene?

  Nevermind, I found a helpful chart in the ebook “Fundamentals of Pharmacology for Veterinary Technicians.” I will post it below for anyone who also needs info about topical otic treatments. I will definitely get some Cerumene as it seems like the best choice. Thanks!
