That’s an opiod. I wouldn’t suggest using it. It is for moderate to severe pain and you have to be careful with dosage. And yes, there are concerns about it slowing the digestive system down even more.

As LBJ says, it’s tricky to dose it correctly, too much will be bad. Opioids are known to slow down the gut just like opiates. Does she seem to be in pain? If she shows overt signs of pain I’d consider giving tramadol, but otherwise not. I’d rather use meloxicam. You should make sure she’s warm enough, GI stasis often causes the body temp to drop and whatever pain-killer you might use will lower the body temp further. She can sit in your lap with a blankie on her or have a hot water bottle in her cage so she can snuggle up to it or move away from it as she finds comfortable. Hypothermia is bad for bunnies and makes the whole system slow down, so you want to avoid that. I’m assuming you’ve done tummy-massages.

Unless a vet tells you to give tramadol, I wouldn’t! Some people are allergic (I am), and some bunnies may be too. An allergic reaction to this is violent!!
