Hello! I’m brand new to the forum, although I have been lurking for some time. I finally caved and adopted a rabbit a few days ago.
I know that this question has been asked a thousand times, but I’ve been obsessively counting my bunny’s breaths and although his habits seem normal (eating, drinking, binkying a bunch, running around like crazy, exploring, etc), his breathing does seem abnormally fast. I’ve already started looking for local vets, but was wondering if some of you would be able to calm my nerves until I can get him a visit. I’ve attached a video of him laying down so hopefully that helps.
Misc information: age is unknown unfortunately, but he does seem a bit on the light side. I know smaller rabbits tend to breathe faster, but I just want to make sure this is normal. I’m a super anxious and cautious person when it comes to my pets
.
(He is going to be a house bunny, but I’ve had him in my room for the first few days so he can get acquainted with his “home base” before exploring the rest of the apartment. Don’t want the cage in the background scaring anyone lol. It’s merely his litter box.)
I can post a video later of him being more active if that would help as well. Thank you in advance!
