Wasn’t quite sure where to put this post. Sorry if it’s not in the right place.
I was wondering about fleece. I’m trying to change the setup for Choco. Right now, he’s just in a cage, but I thought he needed more space. I ordered an ex pen for him yesterday and I intend to have that be his main space. It might not be a ton of space for him, but we live in an apartment, so it’s not like we have a ton of space, ourselves. Anyway, living in an apartment, I don’t just want to let him run around on the floor, digging it and whatnot. I decided that I wanted to get some linoleum that was somewhat bigger than the pen. I thought that would be best, as it’s easy to clean and hard to destroy. But I also wanted to give him something soft for better traction. I’ve heard that a lot of people use fleece. However, I was wondering how safe it is. I’m under the impression that fleece can be made from various materials. Most of the fleece I’ve seen around where I live, however, is either acrylic or polyester. I believe both of those are types of plastic?
I want something just to use as flooring and not as something for him to chew. However, if he does decide to chew and ingest it, I’m wondering how safe materials like acrylic or polyester would be. I don’t think it would be, but if it was something he decided was the most awesome thing in the world to chew and could potentially eat a lot of it, obviously, I would take it away. Even if the material is safe, a bezoar would not be. I’m just wondering if the material is safe for ingestion in small amounts, just in case he nibbles it here and there.
If not, what would be a good alternative?
If so… I’m gonna have a heck of a time finding the right sized one at a reasonable price T-T
*edit*
I’m also wondering about microfiber. I’ve been seeing that in the searches I’ve been doing. Personally, I can’t stand the stuff, but is it safe for buns?
