Hi everyone! I’m a new rabbit owner and i’m not sure whats normal or not normal but I thought I noticed what seems to me to be an irregularity in my bunny:
My bunny’s name is Charlie and he is about 8-9 weeks old. I got him a little over a week ago and he seemed to be doing really well until today. He has been eating and drinking water no problem and still has been really active but this morning when I came back home I noticed his recent urine was Brown-red, which is different in comparison to the yellow he’s had in the past week. And, when i held him today, I noticed his stomach region was significantly larger than just a couple of days ago. I wasn’t able to take care of him yesterday because of my schedule but my roommate did and everything seemed to be okay. I looked up online about bloating and how its fatal so I’m really worried about it being the case for him but while Charlie has a larger stomach, it doesn’t seem to be really “hard” and he’s pooping normally (the same size pellet if not maybe a little bigger and solid as usual). Should I be concerned about this at all? He’s been drinking more water recently and eating quite a bit so maybe he’s overeating/drinking? I’ve been feeding him the exact same pellets he had before I got him and he timothy hay and water in a bottle. Everything seems to be okay except for those two problems, even right now as I’m typing he’s seems really active (running & hopping around and cleaning himself).
If someone could please help me out and let me know if this is a serious problem or not or if maybe taking his food and water away or limiting it for a while would be best or not that would be wonderful. Thank you so much in advance guys!
