My baby holland lop is around 2 months and just two days ago she started laying around and sleeping all the time. She has most of the day to run around my room with my other bunny who’s about 7 months. I leave her cage door open for her to come in or out as she pleases, usually she would hop around and play with my other bun. Out of no where she’s been laying around or leaving into her cage to stay alone. She lays so still and limp that several times I actually got frightened that she was dead. I don’t think she’s sick. She’s been eating, drinking and even helping to cleaning her other bun friend. She just hasn’t been active. I have several “ideas” of what it could be. She does share her cage with my other bun and I was thinking that now she’s getting older she could be feeling like she wants more of her own things, she’s been growing like a weed so I thought maybe it’s just that or that possibly she’s been over eating because I put both bunnies food in the same bowl and I do see her eating ALOT more often then my 7 month old. Those are just things I’ve though of I don’t know if that’s at all accurate to what could be wrong I’m just getting worried.
And one last thing, they’ve been sharing a cage sense I got her around 4-5 weeks ago and my oldest got used to her very quickly but is it possible that if I bought another cage that they would be uncomfortable or lonely being by themselves, even though the cages would be right next to eachother. (they are usually only in the cages while I’m sleeping or if I’m not at home) I just think now that she’s been getting bigger that it’s too small to keep them both in the one cage. Plus I feel like they might enjoy a place that’s just their own.
I’m sorry for all the questions I’m very new with buns I just got my first one in the beginning of September and I try to do as much research as possible but some things I just can’t find out.
