I’m getting a rabbit and this is meant to be her room… is this a good rabbit room or bad? It still needs abit of work but I’m hoping to keep the rabbit to let the rabbit have the whole space all day and the pen in the middle is just a space for her to keep warm and then at night keep her in the hutch there are some toys but in there so that she doesn’t get bored but she’s probably sleeping… I just want to make sure shes warm and night! There is a blanket that goes over the hutch at night to stop any drafts is this a good idea? And even though she won’t have any bunny friends I’m going to introduce her to my cats and dogs slowly (they are very friendly) and when I’m certain that she is safe with them I will leave the door open with her in the pen so they can see her all the time…

          So this is outside ?

Rabbits tend to sleep mostly during the early afternoon to evening. Is there a reason why you’d not leave her in the pen instead of in the hutch ? Is there predators ?

My goodness is that a huge cardboard bunny cutout on the floor ? That is awesome !

I wouldn’t allow access to the bunny by cats and dogs without constant supervision.

My family own a gallery and people used to rent out studios to do art work in and this is one of them, its separate to the house so it is outside but… it does get abit cold In there at night so I thought the hutch would keep her warm but I’m going to leave her in the day in the play pen, there is no predators but I’m just worried about her getting to cold and its a carpet cut into the shape of a rabbit haha thank you! ?

You may be correct about cold. I usually worry about roasting mine out with the heat in the house as I chill easily and turn the furnace on.

                    Hi Ivybunny
it certainly looks as if you have done your homework and prepared a lovely welcoming home for your new bun ! Well done.
I think he or she is going to get a lot of love from you and be a very happy bun ! (and that you’ll be spending lots of time in there too on the floor with her!)

A bunny mat !!!! – Don’t tell people on here your exact address or they’ll be coming to pinch that mat !! (me first!)
Be warned your bun may take a nibbly liking to it though!!

Depending on your bun, she may jump up on to the cardboard house and jump over the pen… so keep an eye on that.
And you’ll soon find out if you need to attach the food and water bowls to the sides as bunnies tend to like throwing things with their mouths…. even with the weight of the water.
And the walls look like solid ones so she’s well sheltered. (I am presuming there are 2 more walls behind you out of the photo !! LOL)

As BunLuv mentioned, if there are no predators in the room itself and nothing to be destroyed (like a sofa or curtains or electric wires…..) then bunny could stay out all day maybe? (Once she is litter trained I guarantee you she’ll hop hop hop over to the litter tray when she needs to go, just like a cat…)

Well done you ! When is the new arrival arriving?

Gosh yes it is a good bunny room. Mine came home to a pop up bunny cage in the beginning, lol.

I never thought of that VB ! BB had a cardboard box in his pen and never thought to use it to escape, but Josephine certainly would have.

My big monster would now just take a step over the fence !! LOL
She’s a jumper if ever there was one… (I can’t get my video of her on here, but I wonder if i could get a good still photo of the moment when she jumps… I’ll try.)

Thank you she is a mini lop so is quiet small she’s only going to be 3 months she is also coming tomorrow! Really excited… i don’t find if she can get out of the pen because there is nothing for her to get to and also she will have lots of space but I think at first I will keep her in her pen when I’m not there but when I am I will definitely let her out so she can have a proper run around! I will post a picture of her when she arrives

It’s already been mentioned, but that large square box in the corner of the pen could be used as a jumping out platform. Maybe you could place it in the middle of the pen instead, so she wouldn’t be able to jump over the side of the pen. Or, you could leave it out of her pen, since I see that you have another little house for her. That hutch looks short. It’s always recommended that any cage or pen for a rabbit be tall enough so that they can stand up on their hind legs.

Okay I think that I might take it out because theres not much point in it… the play pen will be left open away so if she wants any where abit warmer she can always go into her hutch, I might just make a little sleeping area in there instead ?
