Hey there everyone!

Sorry to post this same topic again. Just really stumped on how to get Squish to eat his hay again.

Short version: Squish was never a fussy eater. He would munch on whatever hay I bought all day long. He’d go through a lot. He’d only have some fresh leafy greens a little bit each day.
Then he had to stay in hospital a week with GI stasis. He was ill around 2 weeks but managed to make a full recovery.
I have never fed him pellets in the past. But during his stay in hospital and during his recovery at home he was fed the oxbow branded pellets. This was because he wasn’t eating very much and he would want to eat the pellets.
Now since he has recovered he will not touch his hay. At all. I have bought every single type of hay in Melbourne that I could find. But he won’t even nibble a little bit. I have put hay all around the house and near his napping areas. I’ve mixed different types together. Hidden treats of carrot in the piles. Sprayed the hay with water. Sat with him and tried to coax him into having a nibble.

He has a huge appetite for pellets/greens etc but doesn’t want hay one little bit.
It’s really frustrating me.

His current health and happiness is great.
And his teeth are perfect. No molars. (Although I’m concerned how they’ll be down the track if he doesn’t start eating hay.)

Would it be dangerous to hold off on all his food but just a very tiny amount. To get him hungry enough to want hay? I know that he has to eat quite regularly or he could die so I’m not sure how to go about this action.
