Hi everyone! I just got my bunny about 2 and a half months ago and she’s almost 5 months old. A few days ago she’s started peeing this thick, cakey looking urine and I can’t tell if it’s sludge or not. She’s been acting completely normal and happy but a little while ago she peed and showed no signs of straining but her urine was dark yellow and now that it’s dried it’s looking like the other cakey urine that’s I’ve been finding. I’ve only been feeding her timothy hay and her pellets and small timothy hay cubes/treats since she’s too young to have real treats. Should I take her to the vet, or is this maybe something that has to do with her becoming sexually mature? I called a vet the other day and they said it might just be her food and to just keep an eye on her.
        Thanks guys!!!

Here are some pictures, the first two of normal bunny pee, the third one of sludge. Medirabbit is an approved source.

Bunny peep vary a lot in color and “cloudiness”, but it shouldn’t look like fine concrete like on pic 3. Make sure she drinks, it’s good to have both a bottle and an open water-bowl in case she doesn’t know how to work a bottle. Hay and pellets are fine for young bunnies, but you can start introducing vegs at 12 weeks.

Hers is very thin, definitely not a millimeter thick like the site says. I cleaned out the bottom of her cage and it had soaked through to the bottom of the pan and it looked kinda sandy, which is believe is an indicator of sludge? We use puppy pee pads instead of shavings to absorb her urine, so I’ll attach some pictures of what it looked like.

The first pic is what I found the first time. The second is what it looked like a little while after she peed dark yellow and it began to dry.
