I had to leave my bunny Benji for a few days for a wedding, now I’m back and he’s acting distant and misbehaving. I was only gone 2.5 days and I had a friend come take care of him for me. My housemates also checked in on him and played with him. Is it normal for rabbits to act like this after their owner has left for a bit? According to my housemates he acted normal toward them but he’s basically treating me like I’m a stranger. Is this normal? And if so, what can I do to get him to go back to normal?

If he’s eating and pooping like he should, I think he just needs a little time to “forgive” you. You can bribe him with treats. If he doesn’t eat and poop like he should and doesn’t want to take treats from you, I’d worry sth else is wrong, not just his mood. Rabbits are sensitive to stress and a care-giver going away might be a stressor.
