Hi there everybody, I have been reading the forum for the past year, but never posted. I am sure you have probably answered this and I just haven’t found it, I am not very forum savvy. On to Basil and Poppy’s story:
Almost a year ago, after the death of our beloved Abigail, I rescued a pair of bonded rabbits from the local shelter. These 2 are a very unusual looking pair. Poppy is a 1.9 lb Otter colored Netherland dwarf spayed 4&1/2year old, and Basil is a 9.2 lb black ? neutered 2 year old. They are wonderful loving rabbits except for one major problem, I can’t seem to get Poppy completely litter box trained! Basil is perfect, he can be anywhere and never a problem. I would love to let them have free range of the 2nd floor of our house, but Poppy just pees where ever she is. Unfortunately that means Basil isn’t getting as much exercise as he should.(Poppy is so little that she gets plenty of exercise in the condo/run that my husband built for them.) How do I train her without punishing him, by being confined to a very small space? So far the only way she is litter box trained is if I fill the pen with nothing but litter boxes
Looking for ideas here, because there are more rabbits that need rescuing, but I can’t bring in another pair until I resolve this issue!!!
