I’m very confused here. Two weeks ago, Oliver went to the emergency vet because he wouldn’t stop scratching his ears. They said he had mites and treated it with antibiotics and ivermectin. He saw his regular vet 4 days later. She said she saw nothing wrong with his ears, highly doubted it was mites and that it was probably some infection which was being taken care of by the antibiotics. She told me to keep him on those for the remaining 4 days of application.
Ok fastforward to today. Ever since his trip to the emergency vet 2 weeks ago, Oliver has not been eating as per usual. He eats a bit of hay here and there and will munch on his greens, but not nearly as much as usual The only two things that he will eat consistently are pellets and cilantro (but only his crap pellets, not the nice Oxbow ones he was in the middle of being switched to when this all started. He now picks around those). For example, last night he ate all the pellets he got for dinner and only picked at his helping of greens and hay. This morning when I put his breakfast items down he went straight to the cilantro and began munching away like he was extremely hungry. He seems to be in great spirits and is drinking water, so I’m confused. Also, I live right by an organic grocery store so Oliver has regular access to a wide variety of high quality, organic greens. He’s very spoiled.
My three thoughts are:
sick
side effect of molting
has suddenly decided he’s sick of greens and hay cause he gets them all the time
