I recently purchased a buck holland lop who is about 11 weeks old. We have him for about 2 weeks now and he’s pretty shy and to himself. He came from a breeder partially litter trained but since I’ve had him her only sits in the litter box. We take him out of his cage but he doesn’t see to like it and goes sniffing looking to get back into his cage. Is this pretty normal? I want him to be able to explore around the house and not sit in the litter box the entire day. Any tips to make  him more comfortable with his cage and his new home.

He’s little still. And two weeks is not a lot of time to get to know his new people. Can you just leave his cage door open for a bit and let him choose when to come out and explore?

His cage is open at all times but he never goes out. Maybe he needs more time to adjust.

It took my holland baby a weeks to venture out also. I think it really helped that I put down a piece of carpet for him to get down on instead of the slick floor. How is your flooring?
