Hi, I am new to this forum and after lots of research am now a Bunny mom! We have Jeremy housed up in an X pen in our dining room with lots of room for hopping, lino for easy clean and all the comforts. He has a wooden “Bedroom” type box at the back, and a large litter tray. We let him hop around the living room in the evening when we are home and his litter training is getting much better in there. But he keeps weeing in his little wooden house and not in the litter tray. I keep moving a little of the soiled litter to the tray to change the scent, but it hasn’t worked so far. Would it help to remove hay from inside the house? Thanks

Hi! I deleted your first post since this post seems to be a revised version =)

Is Jeremy neutered? It’s hard to litter-train an un-neutered bunny.

You can try removing hay from his house and if it’s possible, perhaps change its place and put the litter-box where the house is now, then clean out the house as best you possibly can with vinegar and water. Rabbits often decide to go in a certain spot of their own choice, and if you put a litter-box in the spot, they’ll go in the litter-box because it’s in the right spot.

My bunny definitely did this. He chose his spot so that’s where the litter tray went even if it wasn’t quite where I wanted it. I also reward him after he goes in his litter tray. Whether it be a pellet or a rub on the head. I think he knows he has done well when he goes there as he always runs to the front of his cage to receive his praise after. He still has the occasional little accident but I just soak it up and put the tissue in his litter as a gentle reminder good luck x

He isn’t neutered yet! The Vet said to wait a month or so before having it done. I will definitely try moving his house and his Lbox around and see if that helps! Rewards are a good idea too! We have only had him around 2 weeks! so hopefully it will improve!
              Thankyou

Any idea how to stop his peeing on us too? x
